Who's there?
Hi. My name is Chas. Campbell, just short for Charles, and I started my career in photography as a teenager shooting and printing 100's of Little League photos in my basement. That was over 35 years ago, and since then I have owned and operated commercial labs, shot industrial equipment, editorial, grip-n-grins, theater, portraits, real estate, you-name-it. On separate tracks throughout those same years, I have also been successful in sales, created and hosted 100's of web sites, and served as a marketing consultant and trainer.
Now I am over 50 and ready for new projects and challenges. I want to fill that niche for the creative photographer with broad experience, low overhead, and the ability to work quickly. My motto: under-promise, over-deliver, on-budget!
My daughter Kat has just graduated from the U. of Wisconsin in chemistry/forensic science. Besides making me extremely proud, it also means I am free to travel on assignment. What is it?
There are a zillion photographers in business out there and most of them are pretty darn good. Some specialize in weddings, portraits, fashion, industrial; you name it. Prices range from struggling students who will work for free, to high-end, high-overhead studios booking $1000s/day.
Sometimes you need a flexible, broad-based photographer who can work on a tight budget and/or isn't booked a month or two in advance. This is my niche. Even if you work with a high-end studio on major projects, you can benefit from working with me on smaller jobs not requiring or justifying the studio overhead. Allow me to fill the gaps in your completed project portfolio or help provide content for your next multimedia presentation. Do you need someone to shoot the personal projects or jobs that didn't have a photo budget but belong in your portfolio?
What I offer is SLR quality Digital formats. This rules me out for your large-format and studio work. I am keeping it light, mobile, creative, and affordable! The power and clarity of current digital equipment is formidable and functional for all except large scale reproduction.
I have owned custom photo labs and know how much film processing and printing can eat into your budget. All-digital production allows me to provide immediate printing up to 13x19 and rapid on-line or CD/DVD delivery of your completed files. No film costs. I am happy to supply multiple resolutions so you can have high-end printing, DTP, and web-optimized files as needed. You typically own your original assignment files without further licensing fees. Often digital retouching and special effects can be accomplished within the Day-Rate.

You buy. I'll fly. Centrally located in the Midwest, 25 minutes to MSP international airport. 4-Seasons of color. Urban and Rural settings. From dry flat prairie to rocky Lake Superior shoreline.
